BRANDMONCLER モンクレール
MONCLER, which continues to be adored by Europe’s upper crust for its premium down-wear, originated in 1952 in Monestier de Clermont, on the outskirts of Grenoble, France. The name itself is thus a combination of syllables (“mon” and “cler”) of the name of the town in which it was established. For the 1968 Winter Olympics held in Grenoble, MONCLER was the official apparel of the French national team; the name MONCLER thus became synonymous with premium down-wear and known throughout the world. At that time, France’s national bird, the rooster, or “coq” in French, became MONCLER’s symbol.

Using down of the highest quality in prescribed quantities (beginning at unit of 1g) for each part of its down-wear, MONCLER exerts the scrupulous care of a craftsperson in its production. Now, half a century after MONCLER’s founding, the spirit of creation remains utterly unchanged. It is the one and only down-wear that combines the soft, comfortable feeling of the body being softly wrapped around, and the beautiful silhouette.

MONCLER seeks not only to maintain top quality but to constantly release highly fashionable collections. No matter what the season, its functional but luxurious, sporty collections propose the elegance of resort life.

In August 2001, Yagi Tsusho established a joint venture with Italy’s Pepper Industries S.p.A to form Pepper Japan Corporation, which is engaged in the wholesaling and retailing of imported MONCLER apparel and clothing accessories.
Pepper Japan Corporation became to 100% subsidiary in 2003 afterwards, and changed the name of the company to Supremes Incorporated in January, 2006.

In April 2009, Yagi Tsusho established a joint venture with Moncler S.r.l. to form Moncler Japan Corporation.
